52 illustrated information plaques have been installed near respective trees enhancing the botanical and educational value of the botanical garden. We furnished photographs and information for these plaques in Marathi and English and weighed in on the design aspect as well and are happy that the V.J.B. Botanical Udyan & Zoo authorities installed the attractive plaques. Installation of additional 50 such plaques is on the anvil. Please note that the information plaques (photographs on side) were installed prior to December 2022 when the official name of Rani Bagh was V.J.B. Udyan & Zoo and therefore the information boards carried the then official name. The Save Rani Bagh Botanical Garden Foundation’s proposal to change the name to add the term ‘botanical’ was accepted by the BMC on December 12, 2022 and the official name was changed to V.J.B. Botanical Udyan & Zoo.
